DTI Honored with The Rigel Award by Lockheed Martin
We’re pleased to announce that DTI has been selected by Lockheed Martin and NASA’s Orion Multipurpose Crew Vehicle Program as the 2017 winner of the Rigel Award winner.
Each year, Lockheed Martin and NASA solicits nominations from Orion program personnel who witness the great things that its small business partners accomplish. The Rigel Award is awarded to a small business partner who performs above and beyond its contractual commitments.
“On behalf of Lockheed Martin and NASA’s Orion Multipurpose Crew Vehicle Program, I want to congratulate Damping Technologies, Inc for being selected as the 2017 Rigel Award winner. With a program as large and diverse as Orion, the competition for this award is impressive. Receiving this award is testimony to DTI’s exceptional capability and performance,” said W. Michael Hawes, Lockheed Martin’s Vice President Human Space Exploration and Orion Program Manager.
The prestigious award is named after the Rigel (pronounced Rye-jul) star. Although it is designated the Beta star of the Orion constellation, Rigel shines brighter than the Alpha star, Betelgeuse. Thus, the Rigel award is given to those subcontractors who shine above and beyond the call of duty for the prime (or Alpha) contractor.
